
Laura D. Fishman, LMSW, ACSW, P.C. Psychotherapist
Laura Fishman is a clinical social worker who provides individual, family, and group therapy for adolescents, young adults and adults. An active member of the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA), Laura specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, including anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating. In 2008, she had the privilege of speaking at the NEDA National Conference about the benefits of group therapy as a means of breaking the silence in treatment. She is also actively involved in raising awareness and education of the seriousness of eating disorders and has started local community programing to support the cause.
Laura is also experienced in treating the emotional impact infertility and other reproductive challenges have on women and couples. She is an active member of RESOLVE, The National Infertility Association and facilitates therapeutic groups for women to help them cope with the stress and uncertainty infertility carries.
In addition, Laura is a nationally certified trauma and loss consultant specializing in depression, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, and Borderline Personality Disorder. Special focus is given to adolescent issues including the rising epidemic of bullying, self-injury, and other school adjustment difficulties.
